What SoriLink is
SoriLink is a private beta voice keyboard (Android) and menu-bar dictation app (macOS). It is not published on any app store; access is invite-only, and the app itself has no SoriLink-operated account or cloud service.
Microphone access
SoriLink requests microphone access to transcribe your speech into text. Recording only happens while you are actively dictating (push-to-talk or an explicit toggle) and is indicated in the system UI, as required by Android and macOS. SoriLink never listens in the background without that indicator.
Where transcription happens
Transcription runs on-device first, using the platform's built-in speech recognition (Android's SpeechRecognizer, or the equivalent on macOS). Audio processed this way is handled by the operating system's recognizer, not sent to a SoriLink server, because none exists.
Optional self-hosted server
You may optionally route audio to a server you run yourself (faster-whisper for transcription, Ollama for text cleanup), on hardware you control. That server is yours: SoriLink's developer has no access to it, and no audio or transcript leaves devices you control unless you configure this yourself.
What we don't collect
- No account, email, or sign-in inside the app itself.
- No analytics or crash-reporting SDK is integrated in the current beta build.
- No transcript or audio is uploaded to any server operated by SoriLink's developer.
Local data and deletion
Settings, prompt presets, and any locally recorded audio/transcripts are stored on your device (and, if you use the optional server, on that server). To remove them, clear the app's data or uninstall it from Android/macOS system settings — standard OS-level deletion, since there is no separate SoriLink account to delete.
Recording other people
If you use SoriLink's recording features in a conversation with others, consent laws for recording other people remain your responsibility; the app displays a visible recording indicator to help you honor that.
